Logos
USGBC’s logo should be used with the utmost consistency and integrity.
Our main logo is our USGBC seal in black. This logo is reserved for use on formal printed materials, including letterheads, certificates and advertisements. It is our most recognizable mark and should be used exclusively to introduce customers to our brand.

Provide as much clear space around the asset on all sides. Clear space around our assets keeps them uncluttered and prevents elements from encroaching on our marks.
If you make it small, make sure it's still legible. A general rule is no smaller than 50px on its shortest side.

Make the mark the most prominent visual element on business and marketing materials. The user’s name and logo must be significantly larger than the marks.
Distort or alter the marks' shape, proportion, color, or orientation. Keep them only as they appear in their original files.
Wrap additional text around the marks, integrate them into other logos, or enclose them in another graphic. The marks are intended to stand alone.

Original print size is set in the EPS file. Do not reduce the logo to more than 20% or enlarge it to more than 380% of its original print size.
The height and width of the mark must be constrained to its original proportions.
Do not reduce the mark to less than a 50-pixel height, and do not enlarge the mark to more than a 200-pixel height.
Keep 0.25” clear on all sides of the USGBC logo in print layou
Alter the logo in any way. Do not animate, color, rotate, skew, or apply any effects to the logo.

Use the mark as the most prominent visual element on the materials.
Integrate the mark into other logos. The mark is intended to stand alone.
File Format Guide
PNGs (Portable Network Graphics) are raster based images. PNGs can be saved at as hi-res images but increasing the size of a PNG will reduce the overall quality of the image. A benefit of using PNGs (instead of JPGs) is that they support transparent and semi-transparent backgrounds.
When to use:
When a SVG cannot be uploaded eg. on 3rd party apps
SVGs (Scalable Vector Graphics) can be scaled up or down in size without any loss of detail. Often used for logos, icons and vector based illustrations.
When to use:
Websites/Apps - ensure branding looks perfect on all screens
Illustrations - small file sizes and easily editable
Animation - SVGs can be animated
An EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) file is a vector graphics file format primarily used in print and publishing industries.
When to use:
Printing or large-scale - EPS files are known for their scalability, meaning they can be enlarged or reduced without losing quality, making them ideal for large-scale printing projects.
Used for print and in Adobe apps. All these formats are vector based and scalable.
When to use:
PDF - a format that's independent of software, hardware or OS. Fonts can be embedded in PDFs. Best format for providing print-ready files
Oak Leaves
Our oak leaves may be pulled out to use in some cases to be determined by our designers only.
